Introduction:

 

This appliance has provision of a crew cabin with seating for five. Features include crew protection sprays and additional water, an audible and visual warning when 750 litres of water remains, crew protection curtains, monitor risers, new design ladder stowage arrangements, and alley lights. Stowage lockers are fitted below the tray area enabling stowed items to be accessed without the need to climb on to the appliance.

The appliance is fitted with a 3750 litre fibreglass water tank, fibreglass side shielding body panels, fibreglass stowage lockers and a roll over protection frame located behind the cabin.

The CFA 3.4C Heavy Tanker has a  fire fighting pump set comprising a twin cylinder 22 KW Hatz silent-pack air-cooled diesel engine which is close-coupled to a GAAM Mk. 325 single-stage firefighting pump.

The tanker is fitted with “Foam PRO 1601 Direct Injection Foam System”. This is an electronic, fully automatic, variable speed direct injection system. This foam proportioning system is based on a regulated foam injection system that is directly proportioned to the firefighting pump water flow. It will remain consistent within the specified flows and pressures. The Class “A” foam concentrate is stored in a 50 litre tank at the rear of the tanker.

Primary Response vehicle for grass & scrub fires

To convey a crew of five and the necessary firefighting equipment to the fire ground

To pump water from the on board tank, street main or an open water supply

To produce Class “A” foam solution from the foam storage tank to all delivery outlets on the tanker.

To produce Class “B” Foam solution from the drum supply using a delivery and monitor inductor system.
