Heavy Pumper Scania P320

Mills Tui Build 2012

Introduction:

In 2009, CFA released a Heavy Pumper appliance built on a crew

cabin Scania P310 with the body manufactured by SEM. In 2010

an updated model was introduced featuring a Scania P320 with the

body manufactured by Mills Tui. A second production of Mills Tui

built appliances was released in 2012 with very minor differences

from the previous appliance. This document describes the 2012

built Pumper.

This appliance maintains the standard features of the previous

Heavy Pumper appliances but incorporates new features including:

  • twin 60 metre high pressure electric rewind hose reels;

  • two rear seats incorporating CABA;

  • central locking on lockers;

  • a remote controlled roof monitor;

  • tilting gantry system for the ladder and suction hose;

  • a hand operated light mast; and

  • reverse view camera.

The appliance has a:

  • galvanised steel sub frame with body work constructed from

         aluminium extrusions;

  • 2000 litre fi bre glass water tank;

  • 200 litre stainless steel Class B Foam concentrate tank;

  • Godiva Prima multi stage pump driven through a split shaft power take off (PTO);

  • Feecon APH-2.0 ‘around the pump proportioning system’ to

        deliver Class B foam to each pump delivery; and

  • Storz couplings are fi tted to pump deliveries and 65 mm hose.

  

Role Statement:

The primary role of the Heavy Pumper is to convey a crew of five and the necessary equipment and tools to operate on the fire ground in an urban environment.

The Heavy Pumper can be used to:

  • pump water from static supply, reticulated system, and the

         vehicle’s water tank supply; and

  • produce Class B foam from the on board tank supply or external

         sources to all deliveries including the hose reels, 

         or to a single

         hose line by using an in line foam inductor.
